Phil Robbins has been interested in education, science and technology since he earliest days in high school. After graduating from Drake University, he enlisted in the Air Force, worked in personnel and in his spare time wrote his first book, How To Make Better Grades, published by Grosset & Dunlap, N.Y. in 1961, and then worked nine years in technical recruiting for a number of major engineering firms in Los Angeles. He later got his teacher training at U.C.L.A., taught high school composition and journalism for 17 years. Other activities included writing and publishing Desktop Publisher's Guide to Small Publication Layout and Production (book), Today's Collegiate Job Search Guide (newsletter) that went to 800 colleges and universities, two software publication layout packages, Parent's Guide to Teaching Phonics (course on CDs) and various other publications. Current project is designing a writing course to prepare high school students for college.
